using social media to promote your ophthalmic practice

Social media offers dynamic, often free, marketing tools that are worth considering to raise your business’s profile.  In the last VM Quick Poll conducted by Vision Monday magazine, readers were asked what digital platforms—Twitter, Facebook, or blogging—they are most interested in to promote their businesses.

Facebook won by a landslide 63 percent! According to VM, Facebook is a natural for the vision industry because it is a very visual platform. Images and video can be easily shared, and it is easy to monitor the network associated with your business’s Facebook presence.  It is also possible to link your business web site from your Facebook profile so that your network can easily learn more about your business.  There are also Facebook applications to promote your professional blog and let your network know when you’ve posted something new.

ADG&A has consistently advised its clients to pursue guerilla marketing tactics, such as social media, to advertise their businesses because of the inherent high return-to-cost ratio.  In a recent article, Vision Monday looks at the reasons why Twitter, Facebook and blogging may work for you.  It is worth reading.  Click here to read the article on the Vision Monday site.
