Consumer Spending Index Climbs Again

The Deloitte Consumer Spending Index rose 15.7% in October 2009, climbing from an adjusted score of 3.56% to 4.12%.This is the fifth straight month the Index, which attempts to track consumer cash flow as an indicator of future consumer spending, has hit a new high since falling to 3.07% in October 2007.   For a more complete discussion of this survey on the Retailer Daily website, click here.
